For exciting road trips, aficionados and country collectors alike, join us as we embark on five Central Asian countries: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan & Turkmenistan.
Our Five Stans Budget tour runs in sync with our World Nomad Games tour, with a mid-afternoon flight to Almaty – book early as limited spots are available!
This September, we’re running our classic Five Stans Budget tour in reverse which has you starting your epic journey in Almaty, the vibrant city nestled at the foothills of the Trans-Ili Alatau mountains. Then, we will cross the border into Kyrgyzstan and immerse ourselves in the Soviet-era architecture and picturesque nature.
Continuing our Silk Road adventure, you’ll explore the capital of Tashkent, Uzbekistan, and experience the blend of modernity and tradition. You’ll then travel to Samarkand, notorious for its rich history and stunning architecture. Here, you’ll explore Registan Square, marvel at the intricate tilework of the Shah-i-Zinda necropolis, and visit the Bibi-Khanym Mosque. Samarkand’s Silk Road heritage will transport you to a bygone era.
Next on the agenda is to enter Tajikistan to visit Dushanbe, Khujand, and the famous Iskanderkul Lake within the Fann Mountains, renowned for its crystal-clear blue waters, surrounded by lush greenery and towering peaks.
Finally, you will end our journey in Ashgabat, the gleaming capital of Turkmenistan, for a city tour before heading to Darvaza, better known as the Gates of Hell – the burning crater. On the final night, we will celebrate our unforgettable odyssey through the 5 Stans, where history, culture, and natural wonders converge to create a truly unique and enriching travel experience in Central Asia.
Our Five Stans Budget tour uses our hop-on or hops-off model, meaning you join or combine the winding route as you like or for the entire adventure to see all of what Central Asia offers.
